Standard Delivery Policy
Standard Delivery guarantees delivery on the date scheduled except for those items that must be shipped by carrier (see below). The guaranteed time of delivery varies by location. Gifts going to schools will be delivered by 3:00, businesses by 4:00, and residences by 7:00. If you prefer your gift to be delivered sooner than the above guaranteed times, you have two options: 1. Include in the special instructions during checkout your specific request. We will do our best to follow your instructions, but we cannot guarantee it. 2. In the event your item MUST be delivered sooner, we offer expedited service at an additional cost. Call us for more information on expedited service.
The highest priority is given to funeral orders. Every effort will be made to complete funeral orders by the time of calling or service. However, orders placed for same day delivery or late in the day for a funeral the following morning may not arrive on time. We advise you to call us before placing a last minute order to determine if it can be delivered on time.
What happens if no one is home?
Our goal is to get your gift to the recipient as soon as possible in perfect condition, therefore our drivers are trained to do the following: We leave a tag on the door, and leave a telephone message. Depending on the gift, weather conditions, and other circumstances, we might leave the gift in a safe place. Drivers are trained to use their good judgement and experience to determine when it is safe to leave deliveries. Other delivery options include leaving items with a neighbor or the leasing office of an apartment community.
Every hospital has a different delivery policy. Some hospitals request deliveries be taken to a central receiving area, and hospital staff will take the gifts to patient rooms. At hospitals with a central receiving area, we have no control on when the recipient actually receives your gift. Recent changes to privacy laws have complicated hospital deliveries because the hospital may not acknowledge that a person has been admitted to the hospital. If you know the room the recipient is staying in at the hospital, please include it in the address.
Funeral Home Deliveries
We will call and confirm service times on all sympathy gifts. We make every effort to deliver your gift to the funeral home prior to the start of any scheduled services. Funeral homes have a delivery room where all gifts are taken. The funeral home staff takes the gift into the room where services are held. It is at the discretion of the funeral home staff and deceased's family as to the placement of gifts in the funeral home.
Most schools will accept delivery of gifts for staff, but may have a policy against deliveries for students. Please check with the school in question before placing your order.
Some items on our website are shipped by carrier in areas outside the Indianapolis market. These specific items are unique and generally not available through our national network of affiliated florists. Because of the limited national availability, we ship these items via a carrier such as the postal service or UPS. We promise to ship your gift in a timely manner, but we cannot guarantee the delivery will arrive on the scheduled day. Our estimated delivery date is a best estimate. Delivery to some areas of the country could take longer, such as Hawaii and Alaska. Due to possible delays, we recommend NOT sending these gifts to a funeral home or hospital, but rather send it to your loved one's home.
